Vivekananda Library
The Vivekananda Library and Reading Room are located on the ground floor of the Institute. There are some 40,000 titles in the library including a large number of books for children in the Children's section. The students of the Institute are encouraged to make good use of the library to develop their reading skills.
The library is open throughout the day for the benefit of the students from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm on all 7 days of the week except on listed holidays.
Students who wish to borrow books have to take membership of the library. The student membership fee is ₹100/- and is valid for an year. Books can be borrowed for 14 days. The student membership is only for students of Vivekananda Institute of Languages.
English and Sanskrit language students who want to access rare and costly books may pay an optional caution deposit of ₹500/- to borrow rare and costly books. The optional caution deposit for all other language students is ₹1000/-. The deposit will be refunded to you at the close of your membership fee.
The library also offers General membership to all. The general membership fee is ₹250/- and is valid for 5 years. Books can be borrowed for 14 days. An optional caution deposit of ₹1000/- may be paid to borrow rare and costly books.
There is no fee for using the library reading room.
